Spanish 101-102 Hybrid Tutors

Spanish 101W &102W (hybrid course): Peer Tutor Positions

We are recruiting for Fall 2009. Spanish-language Peer Tutors will teach 3 sessions a week and receive 3 credit hours through the Learning Center.

Peer tutors lead small group sessions for students in the Spanish 101W and 102W
courses. These sessions emphasize speaking and building conversational skills.

Applicants should be able to speak Spanish fluently and have a flexible schedule with
availability to teach.  Leadership and tutoring experience will also be considered.

The position consists of leading a weekly, 50-minute class in which students answer
questions, take a quiz, and participate in activities. Outside of class, the job requires
that applicants fill out the participation form, grade quizzes, and meet with the professor
when necessary.

Applications can be submitted at http://flrc.unc.edu/jobs/studentleader.html and are
currently being accepted. We would like to conduct interviews before the end of the
semester.  Small group sessions begin in Week 3 of the Fall 2009 semester with the weekly
quizzes starting in Week 4.
